The Border Mail's coverage highlighted the remarkable journey from J.G Arnold's humble beginnings with fruit and vegetable deliveries in barrows and baskets to the modern operation employing 90 staff and serving 9,000 Border shoppers from its Osburn Street location. The business's ability to adapt to changing times while maintaining its core values was evident in its successful digital presence, delivering to approximately 300 online customers weekly, matched by an equal number of wholesale orders across an extensive regional network.

Louise Arnold, promotions and marketing manager, alongside her brother Roger as managing director, represented the fourth generation at the helm. "We are beyond thrilled to have been chosen to be inducted into this year's hall of fame," she told The Border Mail, reflecting the family's pride in this recognition of their long-standing service to the community.

The year also saw Arnold's continuing investment in infrastructure with the purchase of a new 23-ton capacity truck, demonstrating their ongoing commitment to growing and improving their service capabilities. This expansion of their delivery fleet showed that even as the business celebrated its past achievements, it remained focused on building for the future.

The Hall of Fame induction served as both a celebration of Arnold's history and a testament to their continuing innovation and growth, proving that after more than 127 years, the business remained as dynamic and forward-thinking as ever.
