Arnold's Online: Fifteen Years of Digital Leadership
2018 marked the 15th anniversary of Arnold's Online, a milestone that highlighted both the prescience of Paul Arnold's vision and the successful evolution of the business into the digital age. As reported by The Border Mail on June 1, 2018, what began with a single order from Monaco to West Wodonga had grown into a service delivering to 300 customers weekly across 70 towns and suburbs.
The success story of Arnold's Online served as a testament to Paul Arnold's forward-thinking approach. As Louise Arnold, marketing and promotions manager, reflected, "Dad had done a lot of reading and research into online shopping." Despite not being able to use a computer himself, Paul had recognized the future of retail, telling his family, "Let's get this going and be a step ahead."

Following Paul's passing in 2002, the family had launched the service on June 2, 2003, as a tribute to his vision. Louise's husband, Craige McCulloch, had played a crucial role in turning Paul's dream into reality through careful business planning. As Louise noted, "Arnold's Online is a good indicator of how my father and his father were always looking ahead. What I learnt from him was the importance of staying ahead of the game and listening to our customers."
By 2018, the service had evolved to offer 12 different produce options, including specialized boxes for school holidays, new parents, and Christmas gifts. The business had also expanded into workplace deliveries, providing fresh fruit and vegetables to staff at various companies. The delivery network had grown to encompass a vast region including Albury, Lavington, Thurgoona, Wodonga, Baranduda, Beechworth, Yackandandah, Myrtleford, Bright, Falls Creek, Culcairn, Henty, Wagga, Chiltern, Howlong, Rutherglen, and Corowa.
This 15-year milestone demonstrated how Paul Arnold's innovative spirit continued to guide the business, with Arnold's maintaining its position as a regional leader in online shopping. The success of Arnold's Online proved that even after more than 125 years in business, the company could continue to pioneer new ways of serving its community while staying true to its core values of quality and service.
