J.G Arnold

J.G Arnold, the founder of our family business, was born in 1854 and laid the foundations for what would become a lasting legacy. In 1892, with just 20 pounds in capital, J.G began his entrepreneurial journey by cultivating a small vegetable garden in Albury, NSW. He started selling fresh produce from a wheelbarrow, and through his hard work and dedication, quickly gained the trust of the local community. His innovative spirit led him to upgrade to a horse and cart, allowing him to expand his reach and eventually open his first shop on Wilson Street, opposite the historic Sodens Hotel Australia.

As the business grew, J.G was joined by his eldest son, J.E (Jack), who played a significant role in supporting and expanding the family enterprise. Together, they navigated the challenges of the early days, including customs duties and different railway gauges, turning these obstacles into opportunities. J.G's ability to see potential in every situation and his commitment to quality service were instrumental in establishing the business's reputation. His legacy of hard work, integrity, and community involvement continues to define our values and guide our operations to this day.

J.G Arnold's impact on the business and the community was profound, and his leadership set the standard for future generations of the Arnold family. He passed away in 1929, leaving behind a thriving business and a strong family tradition of excellence. The values he instilled in the company—quality, reliability, and a deep connection to the community—remain at the heart of our operations, ensuring that J.G Arnold's vision continues to inspire and guide us.
