Current Market Conditions

Some great weather coming through now. This in turn is seeing some improvement across many products.

Value Product

  • Salad Mix: Excellent time to try this out, great quality at an exceptional price
  • Cucumbers: Continental and Lebanese varieties... superb value
  • Cauliflower/Broccoli: Has come off its highs of the last few weeks
  • Iceberg Lettuce: The perfect weather for it
  • Green Beans: Will be great value late this week
  • Zucchini: Better value allowing for a better quality line
  • Australian Asparagus: Time to try
  • Mushrooms: Value across most lines with large Swiss Brown the best value (great for stuffing) buy now

Fruit Update

  • Strawberries: Are in a flush at the moment, great value on larger 500g packs
  • Blueberries: Steady in price with quality more stable
  • Pineapples: While larger fruit is pricey look to bulk lines for value
  • Stone fruit: Nectarines, Peaches and Apricots now available, prices fair and will improve as season continues
  • Mangoes: Calypso are fantastic value this week. Time to buy is now, check out tray buys for best value. We will see small rises next week as the season moves to Katherine NT fruit
  • Rockmelon: Value to be had
  • Dragonfruit and Green Mangoes: For that something different and showing good value
On The Rise
  • Potatoes: All varieties on the rise as we head into new season product. Any old season stock now quality is a issue
  • Onions: Again we head into a new season pushing prices up. Red onions have started to fall
  • Sweet Potato: After the large amount of wet weather in Queensland the last couple of months, prices will remain high
  • Sweet Corn: Prices higher than normal
  • Capsicum: Pricing a little high, set to reduce in coming weeks
  • Tomatoes: Most lines still firm in price. Truss tomatoes are great quality
  • Oranges: The Navel season is at an end. Product is scarce as we transition to Valencia in the coming week from Griffith NSW
  • Pears: Currently at end of season with poor quality and high prices, look to other fruit
  • Hass Avocado: We have stuck to true Hass variety for quality, some cheaper varieties available but quality is a deterrent

New Product

  • Peaches - white and yellow
  • Nectarines - white and yellow
  • Apricots
  • Pomegranates - currently USA stock, Australian season 3 - 4 weeks away

Special Note

Don't forget our great range of bunch lines:
